RG is Turning 3!

Robert Graham,

I was reading you a book today and being the sappy mother that I am broke down and cried because it was a book about how you grow up and go away and get your own house and things of this nature! WOW! That is just crazy!!! I don't want you to grow up so fast! You are my bug, my baby, my sweet sweet, and now my BIG boy! You are almost all the way potty trained! This may embarrass you later, but I don't care. I can't stand it that you are almost THREE!!! It was like yesterday that I was taking you out in your little snowsuit and flakes were falling on our noses and I was so worried that you would be cold or that I couldn't protect you from everything. By the way, that NEVER goes away! I feel like I want to protect you from the world! You are so smart and into everything and wonderful! Here's what you're into right now as you turn three I need to document it!!!!

Reading books!!!
Trucks!---Especially construction vehicles: Bulldozers, Excavators, Dump Trucks! (I didn't even know what an excavator was until I met you!)
Trains! Thomas will always be in your heart I think! You have had the BEST time with your train table and trains! (Hotwheels go on there too!) You have Thomas, Percy, Harvey, and Arthur. These are your favorites and I haven't seen one day since we arrived in GA that you didn't play with these!!! You are SO fun!
Cars! You love Hotwheels and Matchbox cars and play with them on your mat that I got you from IKEA that has the roads and things.
Balls! Your favorite is the basketball, but if it bounces you love it!
Movies! You love Stuart Little! It is your favorite! You like CARS, but Leapfrog reading and Curious George are still leaps and bounds ahead of Lightning McQueen! :)
Play-doh is still one of your many favorite things... even though you still love to paint with me, draw, (you can make smiley faces, circles, train tracks, and desperately attempt "R"s) you still like coloring and stamping, (yeah, sorry, I did that to you!)
Stickers! This is one of your favorite things to do while Daddy is preaching! For some reason stickers keep you very entertained right now.

We do lots of things together at home though, we play cars, ride your trike in the parking lot at the church, color, paint, stamp, use sponges, play with beads, puzzles, games... you love it all! And today you told me, "Mommy, you're my bestest friend!" Warmed my heart to NO end! I hope that we will always be close and have a wonderful relationship! You are MY favorite! (After Daddy of course!)

I love you dearly and want you to grow up, but just do it SLOwwwwwwlllyyyy!! :)

Love,
Mommy

P.S. Daddy asked you this morning what you wanted to be when you grow up! After giving you suggestions like, "Doctor?", "no", "Lawyer?", "no", "A preacher like me?", "No, Daddy, I want to drive an excavator or a forklift!"
Hahahahahaha Love it!

Robert Graham

You are learning SO much about God, Christ, and words. We got you a Big Picture Story Bible when you were in the womb and we've been consistently reading it to you every night for over a year now. You love the pictures and have moments when you thrill us with recitations! I want you to love the Bible and Jesus Christ above all else! I cannot imagine life without you! You inspire me to be a better parent, you ask SO many inquisitive and thoughtful questions, and you challenge me in my walk with the Lord. How? By just being an inquisitor! God's Word talks about having faith like a child, and when I see how your mind works I am amazed! I pray that God will guide you to Himself, draw you, and that you would have a long, happy, purposeful life in Him!

Cheesy Grin

You have now mastered the cheesy grin! I kept you home from church today because you were sick! You look sick! HA! We had a greeeaaaatttt Mommy day! I loved hanging out with you and seeing you play. Your sanity these days is "outside time". It always has been your favorite time, but I really hope they keep P.E. in school, because otherwise I'm not sure you'll make it! Ha! Actually, your other favorite pasttimes are reading, talking, and playing with any moving vehicle or ball. You told me the other day when I asked if you were a "soccer player", you said, "I'm a football man!" Hahahahaha I died laughing when you told me that! You have SUCH a sweet temperament and you are very witty. You distiguish beyond your years the "teasing" concept! You are a joy and I can't wait to see what God does in your life. I hope to keep focusing your heart toward Him and guiding you to an understanding of the cross. It's a hard life, but I think you'll find it well worth it!

I love you,
Mommy
